Pronamel CES is clinically proven to help restore and protect enamel

Pronamel is clinically proven to help restore and protect enamel2

Pronamel is backed by 17 years of research and clinical studies. The optimized technology is highly effective at delivering fluoride to enamel after dietary acid attack and has been formulated without ingredients which can interfere with fluoride’s action such as polyphosphates and SLS. The formulation of Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength was developed to optimize the effect of fluoride to boost calcium and phosphate uptake into enamel.*

*vs standard fluoride toothpaste

Pronamel delivers more fluoride deeper into the enamel surface than certain other toothpastes

Pronamel helps more fluoride penetrate deep into weakened enamel surfaces^4

This study aimed to determine and visualize the enamel fluoride uptake (EFU) of toothpaste by time-of-flight secondary ion-mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS). The focus was on determining the depth of fluoride penetration into enamel demineralized by a 15-minute acid challenge, following twice daily treatment for 7 days with a toothpaste slurry. We see from the image the fluoride uptake for a fluoride-free control as well as 3 test toothpastes.

The results show that Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength delivers significantly more fluoride into the enamel surface than certain other toothpastes.*4

Learn more about the formulation

Patients’ enamel is susceptible to wear and erosion due to exposure to dietary acid. The process of demineralization leads to the partial loss of calcium and phosphate ions. This can result in enamel softening, changes in shape and texture and eventually sensitivity. • Microdamage Repair was 4 Time Greater than a Leading Competitor

Surface microhardness recovery is the measure of the acid-softened enamel surface regaining hardness after treatment and remineralization periods over a set amount of time.

The graph shows the results for treatment with Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength after 3 days treatment.

^Increases enamel hardness as seen in an vitro study (after both 3 & 7 days)

  • 3x Stronger Enamel Protection

This graph shows results for acid resistance ratio (ARR) for Pronamel compared to a competitor and fluoride free toothpaste. ARR is a measure of enamel resistance to a post remineralization erosive challenge generated using an in situ design.

The 3x stronger enamel protection* is an expression of how fluoride uptake to enamel provides protection from acid challenges and is based on the calculation at a 2 hour timepoint compared to the mouth’s natural defenses.*2

  • Significantly Increased Erosive Resistance to Further Acid Challenges

This study aimed to assess and visualize the ability of Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength to protect enamel from erosive lesions.

On the images the dark areas at the enamel surface highlight the lesion depth from acid challenge. The mineral density and lesion depth data showed that the enamel samples treated with Pronamel had a significantly higher resistance to erosive lesion formation.5

  • Significantly Less Abrasive than Other Leading Competitive Toothpastes

The formulation of Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength has a cleaning system which uses 0.6% w/w spherical silica combined with a dual surfactant system.3 This silica system has been tested and shown to provide effective cleaning using the in vitro pellicle cleaning ratio study (PCR).

This study aimed to assess and visualize the ability of toothpaste formulations to protect human enamel against erosive lesions compared to a fluoride-free control. Human dentin samples were brushed under standardized conditions using a brushing simulator and confocal laser scanning microscopy was used to visualize surface changes and determine abrasion depths.3

  • Can Be Used as Part of Aligner Therapy

New Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength can be used before, during, and after aligner use. Clear aligners are sleeve-shaped removable full-coverage orthodontic appliances that may often require resin attachments (buttons) to be bonded to the tooth surfaces.

Due to the removable nature of clear aligners, most dentists believe that they are more conducive to oral hygiene maintenance than fixed appliances, thus contributing to better periodontal health. However, due to the long wearing time and the fact that the aligners wrap around a large area of the tooth surface, this special interaction with the teeth may limit their natural cleaning by saliva, which may be an important factor triggering enamel demineralization.

Aligner therapy patients are prone to caries, too. In fact, 28% of aligner patients developed at least one new early-stage cavity. Pronamel not only protects enamel, but also helps stop early stage cavities when used as directed.^

Use Pronamel Clinical Enamel Strength before, during, and after aligner therapy to help protect enamel.*
