The Voltarol One a Day Medicated Plaster provides effective 24 hour pain relief.² It contains 140mg diclofenac sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which is continuously released throughout 24 hours at the site of pain.¹ Hence, only one plaster application per day is required.

The Voltarol One a Day Medicated Plaster is designed with patented technology* which allows the 24 hour continuous release of a potent anti-inflammatory agent; diclofenac sodium.¹ The medicated plaster has 3 layers: the first is a support layer (non-woven fabric), the second is a pressure sensitive adhesive layer (which contains the active ingredient - diclofenac sodium) and the last third is a mono-silicone coated protective layer.

The Voltarol One a Day Medicated Plasters are ultra-thin and flexible. Comfortable to wear, they are discreet when placed at the site of pain.

The Voltarol One a Day Medicated Plaster is indicated for the local symptomatic short term* treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises of the extremities following blunt trauma.

In a clinical study, with 214 eligible patients*, Voltarol One a Day Medicated Plaster applied once a day, had a greater mean Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score reduction for pain at rest between baseline and day 4 than placebo (-17.65 vs -11.32 mm).** No serious adverse events (SAEs) were reported. The most common side effects were skin reactions at the application site.³

The PSA matrix, in which the active ingredient (diclofenac sodium) is dispersed, contains a studied and specific combination of neutral polymers based on ethyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate in a 2:1 ratio (Eudragit R 40D). Voltarol One a Day Muscle Pain Relief 140mg Medicated Plaster (diclofenac sodium). Indications Local symptomatic relief of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises of the extremities following blunt trauma. Dosage and method of use Adults and adolescents from 16 years of age: Apply one plaster to the painful area once daily. Maximum daily dose is 1 plaster, only one painful area can be treated at a time. Do not use for longer than 7 days. Elderly: Use with caution. If symptoms worsen or use is needed for more than 7 days, consult a doctor. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, aspirin, other NSAIDs or excipients. Patients whose asthma, angioedema, urticaria or acute rhinitis are precipitated by aspirin or other NSAIDs. Third trimester of pregnancy. Patients with an active peptic ulcer or damaged skin, whatever the lesion involved. Use in children under 16 years of age. Precautions The plaster must not come into contact with or be applied to the eyes or mucous membranes. Use the lowest dose for the shortest time. Bronchospasm may occur in patients who suffer or have previously suffered from bronchial asthma or allergies. Immediately stop treatment if a rash occurs. Warn patients against exposure to sunlight or solarium radiation after removal of the plaster to reduce risk of photosensitisation. Systemic adverse events cannot be excluded if the preparation is used on large areas of skin and over a prolonged period. Use with caution in patients with impaired renal, cardiac or hepatic function, a history of a peptic ulcer, inflammatory bowel disease or haemorrhagic diathesis. Use with caution in the elderly. Do not use with other diclofenac or NSAID medicinal products, topical or systemic. Contains butylated hydroxyanisole which may cause local skin reactions or irritations to the eyes and mucous membranes. Side effects Common: Rash, erythema, pruritus, dermatitis, eczema and application site reactions. All other side effects are rare or very rare, see SPC for full details.
