Advanced cleaning system provides superior cleaning action^*

The unique formula of Sensodyne Complete Protection+ is designed with an Advanced Cleaning System which includes stain removing molecules (Sodium tripolyphosphate, or STP) and spherical cleaning particles. Our Advanced Cleaning System enhances stain removal and provides an overall Superior Cleaning Action,^* whilst still being gentle to the teeth.

An in-vitro study was completed to demonstrate the enhanced stain removal by Sensodyne Complete Protection+.² Samples of bovine enamel were stained with 10 applications of stain solution (allowing it to dry between each application), resembling a dietary tannin stain. Samples were then brushed (using an automated brushing machine) with slurries of the different silicas or dentifrices tested. Photographic images were captured of the enamel samples before staining, after staining, and after brushing. The image above highlights some of the results.

The spherical silica, used in Sensodyne Complete Protection+, was shown to offer more effective cleaning performance at 0.5% compared to 5.5% angular silica particles or water.² This was also seen with the dentifrice sample of Sensodyne Complete Protection+.
