NovaMin is specially formulated in Sensodyne Repair & Protect to restore a new tooth-like layer over exposed dentine:*1–7
- Works on contact with saliva to occlude exposed dentine by initiating a cascade of events at the surfaces of teeth
- This results in a rise in pH level in the localised environment, which forms a layer which binds strongly to collagen in exposed dentine
- Once bound to dentine, NovaMin particles promote crystallisation of calcium and phosphate to help create a dynamic protective layer over dentine to help protect against dentine hypersensitivity pain
