An in vitro study was completed to evaluate material integrity and test surface integrity of different cleaning regimes including soaking with Polident Retainer & Mouthguard and brushing with regular toothpaste.8,9

Photographic analysis, light microscopy analysis (LiMi), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) highlighted visible surface damage when material was brushed with regular toothpaste.

The same analysis with Polident Retainer & Mouthguard showed little or no surface changes compared to brushing with regular toothpaste.8.9

  • Ingredients

    Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Carbonate Peroxide (Sodium Percarbonate 200 mg/g), Citric Acid, Potassium Caroate (Potassium Monopersulfate), Sodium Carbonate, TAED, Sodium Benzoate, PEG-180, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, VP/VA Copolymer, Flavour, Cellulose Gum, CI 42090 Aluminum Lake, CI 73015, CI 19140, CI 19140 Aluminum Lake.

  • Instructions for use

    DO NOT SWALLOW

    1. Drop one Polident Retainer & Mouthguard tablet in enough very warm (not hot) water to cover your oral appliance
    2. Soak for 3-5 minutes, then gently brush. For best results, gently brush your oral appliance with cleanser solution using a soft brush. Discard the remaining solution immediately after use.
    3. Rinse appliance thoroughly with running water
    4. Recommend daily use to help reduce bacteria accumulation*

    SAFETY DIRECTIONS

    NOT TO BE TAKEN:

    Do not place tablet or solution in mouth.

    Do not drink cleansing solution or use it as a mouthwash.

    • Keep tablets out of reach of children & those who are at risk of accidentally swallowing the tablet or solution.
    • Do not touch mouth or eyes after handling tablets or solution.
    • Wash hands thoroughly after handling tablet or solution.

    WARNING: Causes serious eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed. May produce allergic reaction.

    DO NOT USE: If you are sensitive to any of the ingredients. Do not use if sealed packet is torn or broken

    FIRST AID

    IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

    IF ON SKIN OR HAIR: Remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with running water.

    IF IRRITATION OCCURS: Discontinue use and get medical advice/ attention.

    IF SWALLOWED: Do NOT induce vomiting. Call the Poisons Information Centre or doctor.

    FOR ADVICE: Immediately contact the Poisons Information Centre (Australia: 13 11 26; New Zealand: 0800 764 766) or doctor.

    Tablets are single use only. Store below 30oC
