Sensodyne Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste

Graphic showing the protective action of Pronamel Active Enamel Shield fluoride toothpaste on a tooth

Advanced enamel protection technology*

Acids from the diet and sugar acids from plaque can both lead to enamel softening and weaken the enamel structure.1

Sensodyne Pronamel Active Enamel Shield actively reinforces weakened enamel and helps build resistance against cavities and erosion.

  • 2x Stronger Enamel Protection**
  • For Effective Cavity Protection***
  • Designed to help with patient compliance

Images showing fluoride penetration of tooth enamel by Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste, compared with lesser penetration by a comparator toothpaste containing the same amount of fluoride

Pronamel’s optimised technology is highly effective at delivering fluoride to enamel

Sensodyne Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste delivers more fluoride into the enamel surface,*2 helping to create a shield against dietary acids and plaque acids.3 The Nano SIMS (nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry) images above show greater levels of fluoride penetration versus a comparator and fluoride-free control.

The formulation has been shown to build 2x the acid resistance from day 1. 3† It promotes fluoride-rich mineralisation to help protect against demineralisation.

Bar graph showing enamel fluoride uptake between test toothpaste (Pronamel Active Enamel Shield), a comparator and a placebo, with the test toothpaste showing the most enamel fluoride uptake

Pronamel delivers more fluoride into the enamel surface*3

Test toothpaste had significantly greater fluoride uptake than the comparator after 2 and 4 hours post-brushing (p < 0.05)3

Figures for 4hr timepoint, adapted from Creeth et al, BMC Oral Health 2020.3

*vs a non-optimised toothpaste in laboratory studies

Bar graph showing relative erosion resistance between test toothpaste (Pronamel Active Enamel Shield), a comparator and a placebo, with the test toothpaste showing the least relative erosion resistance

Pronamel builds 2x the acid resistance from Day 1

After 2 and 4 h, the adjusted mean % RER (relative erosion resistance) was statistically significantly greater (less negative) than for either the placebo or comparator.3

Builds resistance against cavities and erosion

Sensodyne Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste helps protect against demineralisation caused by dietary acids.

Sensodyne Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste has been developed for defence against cavities, by remineralising weakened enamel, to help create a shield against plaque acids.

Sensodyne Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste has a unique optimised formula. (Poly) phosphates, polyvalent metal ions and SLS can interfere with fluoride uptake or remineralisation. 4-8 Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste is formulated without these ingredients to optimise fluoride delivery.

The formulation also has an optimised pH level with lactate and added PVM/MA copolymer to improve fluoride uptake.9

Improved sensorial characteristics can help with compliance10

Pronamel Active Enamel Shield toothpaste has been designed to help with patient compliance.

  • Enhanced foaming action* - with added co-surfactant sodium methyl cocoyl taurate to boost foaming11
  • Leaves the whole mouth feeling clean and fresh
