Interceptive Treatment

Interceptive Treatment: Is It Always Necessary.

Interceptive treatment involves the elimination of existing interferences, removing the need for further orthodontic treatment in the permanent dentition or aiming to reduce the severity of the developing malocclusion. Interceptive treatment may also be an element of ‘two-phase’ treatment representing the first phase prior to a definitive second phase in adolescence. It is crucial for clinicians to recognise the right timing and requirements for these cases to allow appropriate treatment or referral when necessary. On the other hand, it is also important to understand that not all cases require this type of treatment. This talk aims to go through the timings and requirements for interceptive treatment, along with the treatment.

Participants will be able to engage with the Speaker and directly participate in the live discussion and Q&A session. 1 CPD point from MDC category A4.
